Well I've been playing this the last day and it's really impressive. The gameplay brings in PSO's feel for the controls and gives us a classic Phantasy Star story. Infact we seem to get a few stories, since the species of your character; Human, CAST or Numan defines the plot line you'll be walking through. So not only does it force you to create more characters and keep the replay value up; but forces you to think carefull on what species each of the three save slots will be.

From what I've heard a few items have been removed from the japanese version, these being nintendo themed item (Samus's Arm Cannon being one of them). Any attempt to trade the item from a Japanese version of the game results in it becoming a normal bazooka weapon. So those who have the japanese version I recomend you do not trade the arm cannon (or the Green Warp Pipe).

I'm level 18 so far and quite enjoying it. Anyone who's a fan of the Phantasy Star series as a whole I'd recomend try it. Best of all is that it has wifi play. So you can play with friends online. It even uses a few tricks to keep the connection fast. Main being that enemy's act indipendently on each version. So if you see your partner attacking enemies, without being near them, thats why. They are attacking, they're just shown in a different spot on your unit.

I'm hoping to test out wifi eventually for myself, just played wireless.
